Dating a fender amplifier
Well, this universal “truth” was debunked when we found a bunch of amps with transformers made by the Better Coil and Transformers company.
These are marked with EIA code “831” and are most prevalent during the 1966-68 time period.
Instead, there were approximately 2000 of these chasses produced, which then ended up as one of the three models in question.It would be more accurate to say that approx 650 of each of these models were produced in ’60.Dating Fender Amps 1951-1967 – Tube chart on the inside of the amp is stamped with two letters (A – Q): The first letter designates the year and the second letter designates the month.The boss came around and said what we'd be building.
