Group policy settings not updating

Once I place them on the domain and move... Store/Publishing Images/logos/56x56/windows_symbol_clr_56x56Group Policy Settings Reference for Windows (Vista & 7) and Windows Server (November 05, 2013 refresh) These spreadsheets list the policy settings for computer and user configurations that are...

First, I wish to thank you guys for this very awesome board, I know I will have fun learning all the stuff I do not know already about computers, tweaks, and what not. Windows 7 Forums is an independent web site and has not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Microsoft Corporation.

My Question, and forgive me for putting it here, I had no idea where else to put it, I thought about tutorials, but I know this... Whenever I check Windows Update, I get a message that says "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because updates on this computer are controlled by your system administrator". On 2 of my Remote Desktop Servers the GPO updates are applied correctly.

All our GP settings apply perfectly on our Dell desktops and have never had any issues until now.

We've ordered newer Dell desktops but still running Win 7.

An event will be logged when Group Policy is successful.

Or do I need to modify the GPO via my Windows 8 GPM, User Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Internet Options\ But again that would make no sense since it worked before with the way it is.Not sure if this makes a difference but may be worth while mentioning, on the DC 2003 server I cannot view the GPO Settings via Group Policy Management where as on my Windows 8 machine I can.The changes I made had to be made from the DC as that's where the URL hoe page was originally set. What the users get now is still the old URL Home page. There is no indication this policy is failing either, when I run Group Policy Results from my Windows 8 machine Group Policy Management it shows that the GPO is the winning GPO for IE Home page.

What is the best way of applying policies when you have an environment with Server 2003 DC's, Server 2008 Servers, Windows 7 and 8 workstations, Internet Explorer 8 or 9.
